Ehsan Tavakkol is a talented composer, teacher, and musician known for his unique blend of traditional Persian music and Western classical music. Born on September 19, 1981, he has led a diverse and fascinating life, living in multiple countries and immersing himself in different musical traditions.
Originally from Iran, Tavakkol’s passion for music led him to pursue a career in composition and teaching. He studied at the I.P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts in Ukraine, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Composition, followed by a Master of Arts in Composition in 2015. His dedication to musical education further drove him to pursue a Ph.D. at the same university, which he has been working towards since 2019.
Tavakkol’s educational journey has been complemented by his extensive experience as a composer and arranger. He is a proud member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine and has composed and arranged music for orchestras and ensembles. His compositions often incorporate elements of Persian traditional music.
As a teacher, Tavakkol’s expertise extends to various areas of music education. He has taught composition, orchestration, and electronic music at the Kharkiv University of Art by the name of Kotlyarevsky. Additionally, he has shared his knowledge of Persian music and instruments, playing a vital role in preserving and promoting the rich musical heritage of Iran.
Tavakkol’s skills and contributions have been recognized and awarded throughout his career. He has received numerous accolades, including the Grand Prize and diploma for composing “The Space Recitative” in the competition “The cosmos as I see it here I feel” in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He was also honored as a laureate of the international Ivan Karabits Competition for young composers for his composition “Burlesque” for clarinet and piano.
In addition to his academic and compositional achievements, Tavakkol has been involved in various administrative and organizational roles. He has served on committees for music competitions and festivals and has been an active participant in music-related projects. Notably, he was the secretary of the competition section of the Sonic Tehran project and played a role in the Golha project, contributing to the notation of around 600 songs.

His compositions have been performed in concerts, festivals, and various artistic endeavors, earning him a reputation as a versatile and innovative composer.
